Adavanced Color Technology
Imageprint uses ColorByte's proprietary color-management engine. ColorByte screening, is combined with ColorByte's micro-weave technology, and finished off with profiles generated by ColorByte's own profile engine. The bottom line is that they don't rely on third party solutions, so they can make adjustments where ever and whenever they're needed to accommodate the rapid advancements in printer technology.

ICC Workflow Compliant
Imageprint is compliant with ICC workflow so you can print using the same working space as in PhotoShop™. This ability to "proof" through Imageprint means that what you see on the screen is what you'll get off of the printer.

Automated Profile Management
Imageprint sets a new standard for automated profile management. Bitmapped images and vector images each have their own default profiles for RGB and CMYK data types. The RIP then handles the appropriate profile for images that contain multiple data types automatically! Imageprint also detects embedded image profiles found in TIFF and EPS files and the profiles within a single PostScript or EPS document. Users can then choose between using the embedded profile or a default profile.

Embedded Profile Handling
Imageprint automatically detects embedded image profiles found in PSD, JPEG, TIFF and EPS files. You then have the choice of using the embedded profile or selecting yColorByte's default profile.

Grayscale Color Management Control
Using ColorByte's "Tint Picker" you can enhance grayscale images from warm to cool, moss to mauve and all points in between - without changing your ink set. You won't see those annoying hue shifts from highlights to shadows that plague monochrome printing. What you will see, are seamless tonal transitions with no loss of detail and superior maximum densities on both art and gloss papers.

Quadtone Printing
To bring photo quality output to Quadtone printing ColorByte created a proprietary profiler specifically for grayscale. Using a simple monochromatic target they can profile paper and Quad Black ink set combinations in an ICC workflow that allows accurate tone reproduction in black and white printing. They've also included a grayscale ICC setup feature that works just like our color ICC setup. It allows users to imbed the source profile in a single or multi-channel grayscale image or to use a default source space created by Imageprint.

Supported Systems and File Formats

Cross Platform Compatible
Imageprint is the first inkjet printing solution to be truly cross platform compatible. It's equally competent in any Windows, Macintosh or mixed network environment. For optimum printer performance on mixed networks, we recommend a multi-tasking operating system such as Windows or OS X.

Application Level Printing
With our latest release, both Windows and OS X users who have purchased the PostScript option can print directly from applications to the Imageprint queue. Now, more than ever, it's the perfect printing solution for ad agencies performing publication work and photographers using the popular image editing software.

Image Formats Supported
PSD, JPEG, TIFF, EPS, Multiple Page PDF, PDF, POSTSCRIPT LEVEL III, TGA, SUN, SGI, CT / LW (OPTIONAL) (EPS and PDF file formats require purchase of PostScript option.

Postscript Option
Imageprint gives you the option of buying our standard Raster-only version or the PostScript-enabled version of the software. The PostScript option is a work flow tool for some and an absolute essential for others. You'll need the PostScript version of Imageprint if you print PDF or EPS files, or would like to print directly from an application such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign or Photoshop. Not sure you need it? Don't worry, it's easy to upgrade to PostScript at a later time. No additional service charge is added. You pay only the difference between Raster version you own and the PostScript version you wish you owned.

Please Note: Like most RIPs, Imageprint needs a computer to run on. We recommend a robust computer (MAC or PC) with a 1+Ghz speed processor, minimum 512 MB of ram and a 100GB hard drive.

Productivity Tools

Auto-Print Hot Folder Utility
The Auto-Print utility saves time and media by grouping files together for batch printing through the Hot Folder. The user interface is designed to give you maximum flexibility in customizing a "hands free" workflow that meets your printing needs. Any file dropped or saved into the Hot Folder is automatically queued, nested, and printed based on your personalized settings.

Automatic Page Layout
As images are dropped onto Imageprint, they're automatically positioned on the page. If you want to move an image just drag it into position using our full WYSIWYG page composition controls. With Imageprint you don't have to "hope for the best" when you send your job to print. What you see in our page layout window is what you get on paper.

Tiling Across Pages
The Tiling Across Pages feature easily accommodates jobs that require a single image to print across several pages. Perfect for printing tradeshow booth and storefront signage.

Package Printing
Our package print feature gives the professional photographer unprecedented production flexibility. Apply a different template to every image on the page if that suits you. Templates can be designed to any size and with as many frames as your page size can accommodate. Set-up the frame orientation in either landscape or portrait to maximize page use and let our Auto-Rotate feature take care of the rest. Images will be rotated automatically to fit the frame size, so there's never wasted space between frames.

Automatic Impositioning
Our automatic impositioning of multiple page PostScript and PDF files makes it the ideal tool for proofing. Drop a multi-page document on Imageprint and it immediately responds with the number of pages in the document. You select any single page or number of pages to RIP - in any order - and Imageprint lays them out on screen one after the other.
